Florence Knoll Bassett (born 1917) is an American architect und furniture designer, wo studied under Mies van der Rohe and Eliel Saarinen.

In 1941 Knoll received a Bachelor's degree in architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology (formerly known as Armour Institute). Afterwords she briefly worked with the leaders of the Bauhaus-movement, Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and Wallace K. Harrison.

She married the furniture designer Hans Knoll in 1946 and together they started their own company, Knoll Associates. A factory was established in Pennsylvania and furniture dealers were carefully added for the company throughout the years.

Florence Knoll believed that architects should use their talent to design furniture. Some of these furniture designs have become design icons of the 20th century.

When Hans Knoll died in a car accident in 1955, Florence became the head of the company. She designed chairs, sofas, tables and desks. In 1958 she married Harry Hood Bassett.

Her most famous creations as an architect are the Connecticut General Life Insurance Building in Bloomfield, Connecticut and the interior of the CBS building in New York City.
